The Starr portfolio solutions team partnered with Bespoke Events Management to take six brokers to Florence for an intimate three-day hosted experience built around food, wine, culture and one of the city’s most extraordinary traditions. With such an intimate group, the opportunity was to create something highly personal. Rather than a conventional corporate trip, the programme was designed to give Starr and their brokers meaningful time together while experiencing a side of Florence that went beyond the usual visitor itinerary.
When you are hosting just eight people, every part of the experience is noticed. The programme needed to feel considered and special without becoming overly scheduled or formal.
The challenge was to find the right balance between exceptional shared experiences and the relaxed moments where relationships develop naturally. It also meant choosing experiences with a genuine connection to Florence, giving guests stories and memories they would take home with them.
We built the three-day programme around Calcio Storico, one of Florence’s most distinctive historic traditions, using it as the centrepiece for an itinerary that immersed guests in the city.
The experience combined a private guided tour with carefully selected local food and wine, rooftop drinks and intimate dining. Guests stayed in the heart of Florence, allowing the city itself to become part of the programme rather than simply the backdrop.
With Bespoke managing the guest journey, reservations, transfers and logistics throughout, Starr could focus entirely on hosting its brokers.
Guests began with rooftop drinks overlooking Florence before enjoying a wine and cheese tasting and dinner in the city. The following day brought another side of Florence to life, with a private guided tour, local dining and the historic parade leading into the Calcio Storico match.
For a group of only eight, the experience felt personal from beginning to end. There was time to explore, eat, drink, talk and experience something genuinely unusual together.
That is where small-format client trips can become particularly powerful. Fewer guests allow you to go deeper into a destination, create more personal experiences and give the people in the room something far more valuable than another networking event: genuine time together.
