Starr partnered with Bespoke Events Management to bring 20 C-suite global clients together for an intimate three-night experience in the heart of Burgundy. Rather than simply visiting one of the world’s great wine regions, the experience was designed to give guests privileged access to its wines, estates, people and gastronomy, creating the kind of shared experience that builds relationships long after everyone returns home.
For this group of clients, a standard wine trip was never going to be enough. The programme needed to feel genuinely special for guests with varying levels of wine knowledge, while offering access and insight they would be unlikely to experience travelling independently.
It also needed the right balance. Enough exceptional moments to make the trip memorable, but with the space and pace for Starr and its guests to enjoy Burgundy together and build relationships naturally.
At the heart of the experience we brought in Robin Kick, one of only 153 female Masters of Wine worldwide, who partnered with us during the three days in Burgundy to curate an exceptional experience.
Her expertise and insider knowledge gave guests a much deeper introduction to the region, with private visits and tastings at renowned estates across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. We paired these with exceptional dining, including Michelin-starred experiences, while carefully pacing the itinerary so guests had time to enjoy Beaune and one another’s company.
Guests explored Burgundy through private tastings at estates including Olivier Leflaive, Domaine Armand Heitz, Maison Joseph Drouhin and Château de La Tour, the only wine estate located within the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru vineyard.
There was a seasonal lunch using produce from the domaine’s own farm, a playful blind tasting hosted by Robin, private dining in a vaulted wine cellar and a Michelin-starred farewell dinner at Le Carmin.
It was Burgundy experienced through the people who know it best. Exceptional wine and food were part of it, but the real value was the access, expertise and shared experience created for 20 global business leaders, giving Starr a distinctive environment in which to deepen some of its most important client relationships.
