Unrooted partnered with Bespoke Events Management to bring its team together for a festive overnight retreat at Westerlands in the Sussex countryside. Returning to Bespoke for a second year, the team wanted a Christmas celebration that felt true to Unrooted’s personality. Fun, energetic and a little unexpected, with plenty of opportunities to celebrate the year and enjoy time together away from work.
For a brand with such a distinctive personality, a traditional Christmas party was never going to feel quite right.
The experience needed to capture Unrooted’s free-spirited culture while balancing organised activities with relaxed time together. It also needed enough variety and surprise to keep the celebration feeling personal, rather than like a familiar corporate festive format.
We created a countryside retreat that brought Unrooted’s personality into the experience through playful competition, personalised moments and relaxed festive hospitality.
A cocktail challenge, team relay and bespoke pub quiz gave the group plenty to get involved in, while a surprise birthday celebration added a more personal moment to the stay. The programme was deliberately informal, allowing the team to enjoy the activities without losing the relaxed atmosphere of an overnight escape.
As the evening progressed, the celebration moved into an afterparty, giving the team the freedom to carry on enjoying the night together.
The team spent their time competing, laughing and celebrating together, with the Sussex countryside providing a completely different setting from the usual office Christmas party.
From cocktails and team challenges to the personalised quiz, birthday surprise and evening afterparty, the retreat reflected the energy and character of the people attending.
The result was a festive celebration shaped around Unrooted’s own culture, giving the team a Christmas experience that felt personal to them rather than a celebration that could have belonged to any company.
